Matthew T. Scott, P.E. is a seasoned petroleum engineer at the Texas General Land Office (GLO), currently holding the position of Engineer V. With more than four decades of experience across the oil and gas sector, he specializes in reservoir and production engineering, facility design, flow metering, and commingling operations. At GLO, he leads technical field operations including lease compliance, detailed production volume assessments, and royalty audits.
The Texas GLO manages the state’s public lands and natural resources, overseeing leasing and revenue from minerals, energy, real estate, and coastal resources. It is also responsible for veterans programs, disaster recovery, and environmental protection. Matthew T. Scott is part of the Energy Resources / Mineral Leasing division, which handles essential activities like leasing, royalty compliance, pipeline rights-of-way, and production operations on state-owned lands
