Courtney Stephens, the visionary Founder and CEO of QED Energy Associates, has a robust career spanning two decades in the oil and gas industry, Courtney brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to the company.
Courtney began her journey in the oil patch in 2002, embarking on a career that would see her excel in various roles within the energy sector.
She was trained as a Petroleum Analyst at Netherland, Sewell and Associates, Inc., where she honed her analytical skills and industry knowledge.
Courtney expanded her skill set as an Engineering Technologist at Waterous and Co. (now Scotiabank), contributing to both domestic and international mandates as a key member of the technical team.
In 2005, Courtney joined Marathon Oil Company, where she served as a Senior Engineering Technician in the Southern Business Unit. Her tenure at Marathon was marked by significant contributions to various teams and projects, including the Barnett Shale Team, the Southern US Exploration Team, the North America Diversity Council, and the Upstream Domestic Business Development Team.
Notably, Courtney founded Marathon’s Technician Community of Practice and played a pivotal role in developing Marathon’s Technician Training Curriculum.
Courtney is recognized as an expert PHDwin V2 and V3 user. She has significant proficiency in reservoir engineering and economics software. Courtney is also well versed in common technology stacks of oil and gas consulting firms, exploration and production companies, and financial institutions.
Courtney holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Centenary College of Louisiana, graduating Magna Cum Laude with Departmental Honors.
Her accomplishments have been celebrated in numerous ways, including her feature in the book “101 Careers in Mathematics: Fourth Edition,” available from the American Mathematical Society Bookstore.
