The courses will be taught twice, with one set geared towards Oil and Gas professionals and the second designed for Energy Finance professionals—a first for the Petroleum Professional Development Center.
Jim Tague is the Principal Consultant of the Performance Analytics Group, LLC. He has provided in-depth analysis and strategic advice to clients of all sizes, including notable names such as Hilcorp Energy and Harvest Midstream, as well as various start-ups. Before establishing his consulting practice, he served as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Planning and Development for E&B Natural Resources, Manager of Corporate Planning for Murphy Oil, and Senior Analyst for Chevron’s Chief Economist. He began his career as a Petroleum Engineer.
In these roles, Mr. Tague accumulated significant and diverse experience across all facets of the oil and gas industry, including business development, mergers and acquisitions, reserves accounting, capital budgeting, and performance analysis. He is the author of PennWell Book’s “Oil & Gas Performance Analysis,” the soon-to-be-released “Oil & Gas Reserves in Nontechnical Language,” numerous SPE papers, and multiple articles in technical journals.
In addition to his industry expertise, Mr. Tague served in the United States Navy as a carrier-based aviator, flying the E-2C Hawkeye. He remains actively involved in several veteran and community organizations, including TAPS – The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). He is also an active volunteer with Texas High School Rodeo and, on the side, is a Farm & Ranch Real Estate Agent.
Mr. Tague holds a B.S. in Materials Science & Engineering (with Honors) from the University of Florida, an M.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
