Happy Holidays! We’re grateful for your support and wish you a joyful season.
Kirby entered the oil and gas industry as an analyst at Ryder Scott in 2001, a time when operators were just starting to see the potential for modern software and coming to terms with unconventional reserves. He studied nights to transition to engineering role and he’s had a pretty good run as a generalist. He supported the sale of CDX Gas for $835m as an Asset Manager and Reservoir Engineer, managed capital projects in Europe, Africa, South America and the Middle East as Senior Engineer for RSK [UK] Limited and returned to the States full time in 2010 to help establish the Mid Continent business unit at EnerVest. In addition to running the Mid-Con assets, Kirby was tasked with coordinating all due diligence for EnerVest though a very active M&A cycle. It was in this role that he found the opportunity to fully integrate legal, accounting, land, geology and engineering to take acquisitions from valuation through closing. As an Engineering Advisor he has participated in scores of data rooms, valuations and financing road shows culminating in over $4b in asset due diligence and acquisitions for various investors, most recently a $1.4b Eagle Ford acquisition in 2023 as a Board Member and Operations Director for INEOS O&P USA Oil & Gas.
Kirby holds a BSc in Physics with a Minor in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University, an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Houston and an Executive Program Certificate from London Business School. He enjoys hiking and tinkering with his assortment of old cars.
