Happy Holidays! We’re grateful for your support and wish you a joyful season.
V3.1.19 delivers the most requested report from V2 alongside new program enhancements like a Variance Major Phase (%) sort and “Magic” Handles for graphs—making this release a game-changer for engineers and analysts.
Variance Major Phase (%): New measure of projection fit in your case list
“Magic” Handles for Graphs: Interact with projection handles beyond the chart view
Monthly Volume Export Report: Export historical & projected OGW directly to Excel
Scenario Manager Upgrade: Drag-and-drop qualifiers to streamline workflows
Third-Party Integrations: Expanded support with Spotfire
History & Projection Variance Report: Compare historical vs. projected volumes with both absolute values or percentages
Most of our new program features are direct requests from PHDwin V3 users.
This report helps users see how data is organized and applied across various scenarios, offering a clear view of how different qualifiers and models interact.
The Scenario Qualifier Hierarchy in the Status Bar lets users view and navigate the entire qualifier hierarchy directly within a form.
Unlike traditional "Barrel of Oil Equivalent" (BOE), which assumes oil is measured in barrels, oil equivalence avoids implying any specific unit of oil, making it more flexible.
Allows users to add up to three ID codes for easier case identification and linking with external data. These codes are retained when exporting grid edits to CSV or Excel, improving data organization and tracking.
Non-GEL Unit for Offshore Production feature allows users to group cases and accumulate production volumes without solving for economics, unlike the standard Group Economic Limit (GEL) model. This is useful for offshore and onshore product handling agreements where economic calculations aren't required, simplifying volume aggregation and reporting.
All V3 Connect sheets from V3.1.18 are compatible with V3.1.19 except V3 Forecast Connect which was replaced by the Projection Edit Report.
The cost depletion report is great for accounting and financial stakeholders who want to manage their wells taxable liabilities for the year.
Your input has guided our development process. Several improvements and suggestions from our recent user group have made the software more intuitive and user-friendly.
Enjoy a smoother and more responsive experience as we’ve fine-tuned various aspects of the program to boost efficiency.
Discover improved data handling capabilities, allowing for more efficient organization and manipulation of your valuable information within the program.
We’re dedicated to delivering a reliable platform you can trust. This build addresses reported bugs and introduces stability enhancements to further improver the software’s performance.
When the right hardware (32gb RAM recommended) is used with PHDwin V3, large databases (70,000+ cases) are now faster to process and more stable to ensure an efficient workflow.
One of the most requested features from V2 is back in V3.1.19. The new Monthly Volume Export Report makes it easy to pull historical and projected production data straight into Excel—no workarounds, no row limitations.
This feature improves clarity when managing complex projects and helps users quickly identify the applicable data and models for each scenario.
As seen on PHDwin Week 2024 & 2025 | Updated as of 9.15.2025 to work with V3.1.19
Our Connect sheets from V3.1.17 are compatible with V3.1.19 except for Exec Connect. If you are on older versions of connect since V3.1.17 you must download and set-up the new connect sheets. V3 Forecast Connect is no longer supported in V3.1.19.
Instantly access your data summaries in a single line format and monthly reports.
View Grand Totals or any custom summaries you set directly within each report run.
Streamline your data analysis and make informed decisions effortlessly.
Quick view of total values for individual economic runs, providing insights for your decision-making.
PHDwin’s most comprehensive one-line output.
Seamless excel and PHDwin data integration.
*V3 Exec Connect requires an update. If you did not download the new Exec Connect with V3.1.17 / V3.1.18 please do so now for V3.1.19.
Here are a few of our new program features from V3.1.18 you may have missed
The following items need to be installed manually if users install PHDwin from the .msi installer. The .msi installer cannot check for or automatically install these items.
Earlier versions of SQL (2016 or later) and the C++ redistributable (2015 or later) are fine. Only the .NET Framework 4.8.1 is actually new to build 3.1.13, so existing V3 users will only have to install that.

Comprehensive release notes for September 2025
This is a new measure of the quality of the projection’s fit; it shows the absolute percentage difference between the projection cumulative volume and the historical cumulative production for the overlap period. It can be found in sort, filter, graph titles, and a new “History & Projection Variance” Report
This highly requested feature allows users to interact with the handles on projections, even when the projection continues out of the graph. Handles out of graph focus will show as empty squares instead of filled out squares.
Another highly requested feature, this report will export out monthly volumes of both history and projected OGW directly to excel.
A pain point for many users that work with scenarios frequently was that it was too much work to click and drag qualifiers for each qualifier type. You can now drag and drop a qualifier directly on the scenario to add the qualifier as primary to all types at once.
Previously, changes made and saved in cases GUI (as opposed to grid or global edit) were not updated until the case list was refreshed or a report was run. Relevant sort tokens should now automatically update on the case list as soon as the changes are saved.
We are excited to introduce a new feature that will allow us to integrate third-party tools and software. More information will be available for this feature in the future.
There was a GUI refresh issue that prevented deletion of case memos after initial save that has been fixed.
Duplicated cases were not automatically becoming the new active case on the case list; it should correctly display the duplicated cases’ data as the active case.

Now allows copy paste of a column from excel to manage offset for large amount of prospect cases.
Had an issue where the labeling of the success and dry holes in the case list was swapped when half or more of success cases were dry holes. It will now also follow the fiscal model of the success case.
Fixed issues with eco excel export when on multi-scenario run. Discrepancies between graphs and graph reports were also addressed.
You can now drag and drop a qualifier directly on the scenario to add the qualifier as primary to all types at once.
Note: there was a GUI refresh issue that prevented deletion of case memos after initial save that has been fixed.
This report offers a monthly view of the historical volume, projected volume, historical cum, and variance where history and projection overlap for Oil and Gas. The variance has a checkbox to trigger whether to display the variance in volume or percentage. This works in line with the variance shown in sort token and graph titles.
This report offers a monthly view of the historical and projected production for Oil, Gas, Water, and NGL. While the grid editor – monthly production export can be used to similar effect, there were limitations based on number of rows. This report will allow users to easily export out production to excel.
